Today more than ever, product
quality is critically important if a plant is to succeed in economic terms. The quality of plastics, however, in particular is not constant due to fluctuations in the production process, this makes homogenization necessary. To meet this need, Coperion Waeschle offers two devices which handle this important task both before and after compounding: the Combi-Flow® Blender for pellet homogenization and the Fluid-Cone Blender for powder homogenization – two extremely efficient gravity blenders which are also ideally suited to admixing of additives.

Following the polymerization process, polyolefins tend to release monomers. The logical and dangerous consequence of this is that there are risks to safety, in the form of explosions or fire. To prevent this risk of accidents, Coperion Waeschle has developed a process whereby evenly-distributed purge air safely removes the monomers from the bulk load. The process requires comprehensive knowledge of the behaviors of bulk materials, fluid mechanics and explosion parameters.
| Heating / cooling | | |
At the end of the manufacturing process, bulk materials need to be cooled. To counteract potential overheating, Coperion Waeschle has developed the BULK-X-CHANGE® bulk materials heat exchanger, a product outstanding for its particularly good heat transfer and optimum efficiency.
The BULK-X-CHANGE® is equipped with a special tube-sheet which ensures that the product is fed in with no residues. Due to its compact design the bulk materials heat exchanger can be integrated into the plant without requiring too much space. It can be used both to cool down and to heat up free-flowing to slightly cohesive bulk materials.
