| All over the world, thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) are produced in a wide variety of forms and recipes using Twin-screw compounders ZSK. In some instances, the processing stage is followed by heating to produce semi-finished products. Due to their molecular structure, thermoplastic elastomers possess elastic properties combined with thermoplastic processing characteristics. They are therefore ideally suited to compounding on the ZSK twin-screw compounders. |

TPE-O
This group contains elastomer blends which consist of thermoplastic and elastomer components, generally SBS/SEBS, in varying proportions.

TPE-V
The vulcanization and dispersion of EPDM, and in some instances the incorporation of large quantities of softener (> 40%), require a processing length with an average L / D = 56. However, the production machines have a wide range of processing lengths, from L / D = 45 and L / D = 68. Depending on the starting materials and the cross-linking system, the confiuration of the processing section is matched to the reguired processing stages.

Direct extrusion of TPE-O sheet
The ZSK can be used to produce decorative sheet for vehicle interiors in a single-stage process. The example shows the production of a multi-layer sheet in TPE-O on two ZSK 70 Mc machines. One ZSK prepares the base layer, and the other the decorative layer.
