Through its many years of experience Coperion Waeschle has developed standard evaluation methods for product behavior during discharge. When designing a plant, our experienced engi-neers efficiently implement even most advanced concepts.

 

ATI fluidizing cone:

Suitable for fluidizable products like fillers and titanium dioxide. Available for silo diameters from 1 to 5 meters.

 

Vibrating discharge:

Suitable for non-fluidizing products with a tendency to cake. Used in hoppers and silos with up to 2 meters in diameter.

 

Flat bottom:

Mechanically operated and for small hoppers up to 1.4 meters. Provides a gentle, controlled discharge of flakes and regrinded products.

 

Multi-screw extractor:

Very effective in case of heavy products and large silos. Even very sticky products are safely discharged.

 

 

Pneumatic conveying

Coperion Waeschle has the knowledge and components to properly convey even the most difficult and sensitive products.

 

Examples:

-COHESIVE – titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate, barium sulphate.
-ABRASIVE – PVC dryblend with TiO2, reinforced fiberglass compound and aluminum oxide
-SENSITIVE – compounded pellets in processing industry

 

 

Feeding or metering and weighing in batch mode

Proofed formulations and traceability of raw materials used are the driving factors to obtain the best end product quality. Coperion developed a batch weighing method to feed the process machines in a performing, reliable, safe and accurate way. According to product characteristics and amount to be weighed, different technologies are available. Suction scale for major components, additives gravity scale, micro components gravity scale.

Mixing Process

In the compounding industry Coperion has dealt with most of the mixing processes used in modern process technology. Hotcool mixers for PVC dryblend, dissolver for PVC pastes, conical blenders in the powder coating industry and Banbury mixers in the rubber industry are all equipment solutions utilized by Coperion.

Thanks to the WPC control system it is possible to keep all the relevant production / process parameters like temperature, current absorption, speed and cycle time under control and thereby obtain the best results in terms of process control and repeatability.

 

 

Blending of Powders and Pellets

To provide a stable and constant quality of the end product, Coperion also takes care of the downstream gravity blending process using gravity blenders for free flowing powders. Coperion´s gravity blending system grants an optimum blending result in silos with a capacity of up to 150 m3. Especially designed for powders, the FCB (Fluid Cone Blender) and the Combiflow® Blender (Coperion Waeschle Gravity Mixer) are used by the main plastics processing companies.

 

 

Extruders feeding

PVC pipes and window profiles extrusion is a sensitive process that influences the quality of the end product decisively. Coperion developed different solutions for extruders feeding from 150 Kgs / hr to above 1,000 Kgs / hr and is able to supply both pneumatic and mechanical feeding systems or a combination of the two. Coperion Waeschle engineers select the most suitable process, taking into consideration all of the application parameters like flexibility, easy to clean, gentle product handling, investment and operating costs as well as reliability and automation.
