Modular construction, fully tested, delivered ready for operation
The Coperion group in Stuttgart has inaugurated a new modular concept for the planning, construction, testing, and ready-for-operation delivery of a complete turnkey compounding plant that includes unit operations from material preparation all the way through to packaging. The basic idea is to take functional units of the turnkey plant which have been designed to customer specifications and combine them into modules, then to fully assemble and wire each of these modules in a steel framework.

For over a year, the Danish company Færch Plast GmbH in Holstebro has been producing its crystal-clear PET thermoforming sheet on a direct extrusion line for which Battenfeld extrusion technology is entirely responsible. The convincing results, which can be measured by an efficiency of 98% and the speck-free, high-quality film, among other things, have been so successful that a second line has been installed, and after only three days is already producing flawless films for further processing.

Another world-class success: At the end of March this year a new polyethylene plant was put into operation successfully in Al Jubail Industrial City in Saudi Arabia. It is a gigantic plant that will set new production standards, with 2 reactors, 4 extruders, and the pneumatic conveying plant installed by Coperion Waeschle in record time. Nowhere else in the world will you find annual capacities of over 880,000 tons of high-density and low-density polyethylenes.
